This annual local Derby was as enjoyable as ever.

Both sides have hardly changed their sides over the last 7 years!

The overall results this year were rather disappointing for the GB Vets – going down 0-5, although 4 matches went to 4.

Mandy Akin at No.1 and Andrew Bonner at 2 lost to rather youthful and useful opponents whilst Karen Hume at 3 (now married to Robert Smith) and Nigel Belle at 5, lost in hard fought games against familiar foe.

The last match on court was a fun affair with the Smiths (Robert for the GB Vets and Ian for Beckenham, also a GB Vet) vying for the gallery’s laughter and approval in equal measure!

Excellent food, wine and port ended the evening with the GB Vets promising to do better on court next year.
