The funeral took place at Epsom at 2pm. There were a number of VC members there including Norman Hunt, John Timperley, John Skinner, Tony Gathercole, Dennis Hill, Stuart Courtney, Lance Kinder and John Woodliffe. Don’s son Don and daughter Sally spoke movingly of the very   interesting and full life their father had had – despite a most difficult beginning - and of his love of sport and particularly squash. He was our club singles O/55 Champion in1983, the O/60 Champion in 1985, the O/65 Champion in 1992, as well as the O/55 doubles Champion in 1986 with Norman Hunt.

It is with great sadness that we bring you news that Ron Gawler has died. Ron was a GB Vets member for nearly 30 years and played well into his 80’s. He was Club Champion in age groups from O55 to O75 from 1984 to 2002. Details of the funeral arrangements will be posted on this site when they are known.

We are saddened to advise that Norman Hunt has recently died. The funeral service will be held at the Eastbourne Crematorium, post code EN23 8AE, at 11.30hrs on Thursday 15th March 2012 and there will be a gathering afterwards at the Hydra Hotel.

Norman was a very active member of the Club for over 40 years and was awarded the Burrell Trophy in 2002.
