This fixture has been played for more than 30 years and it was heartening to have founder Graham Fisher with his wife Pat and long time player Gary Williams watching.

Paul Reader got GB Vets off to a fine start reversing last year’s defeat by Nigel Warr before the Chair, Ian Graham, defeated recently crowned Club O60’s winner to establish a 2-0 lead. Barry Featherstone lost to an in-form Ian Prentice and Sarah Parr’s victory over Katica Robertson gave GB Vets the match. Ripley Oyler finished off against the ever-tricky and mobile Chris Lock coming back from 0-2 to secure victory and a 4-1 result. Very good for GB Vets after recent losses here.

There was a long post-match social with many players staying on for a couple of hours. Thanks to Chichester for their hospitality and to Chris Lock for selecting such a friendly and sporting team.
